TERMS OF USE
The rules of the road
By installing or using Hafidz ("the app"), you agree to the terms below. They are intentionally short — Hafidz is a free personal tool, not a commercial service.
1. Free to use
Hafidz is provided free of charge for personal use. You do not need to register or pay to use any feature.
2. As-is, no warranty
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translation or tafsir, or uninterrupted availability of recitation audio. You use Hafidz at your own discretion.
We do our best to ensure the Arabic text matches the canonical Madani mushaf and that translations are sourced from reputable publishers, but we are not Islamic scholars and the app is not a substitute for studying with a qualified teacher.
3. Content sources
The Quran text, translations, tafsir, and recitation audio shown in the app are sourced from third parties (Quran.com, equran.id, various reciters' public audio). Their respective licences and terms apply to that content. Hafidz neither owns nor claims rights over the underlying Quranic text — which is, of course, the revealed word and belongs to no one.
4. Your responsibility
You agree to use the app for personal study and not for any unlawful purpose. You are responsible for your own device, your own internet connection, and any costs associated with downloading audio or content from third-party sources.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Hafidz nor its maintainers are liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
6. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
